Namibia has become the center for a new oil & gas boom, with explorations taking place off the coast as well as inland. The Namibia oil and Gas Conference taking place in the capital, Windhoek, shows just how important these discoveries are. The theme is: Leveraging the oil discoveries for inclusive economic development.
As the Prime Minister stated in her opening remarks; “We must ensure that the development of this sector not only brings equitable economic development but that it is also done in harmony with our environment.”
The conference is hosted by the Economic Association of Namibia (EAN), the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) and the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) in strategic partnership with the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR). It has brought together stakeholders in Namibia and the international oil and gas value chain. With discussions and exchanging of views on the potential opportunities and challenges in establishing the oil and gas sector.
As the Land of the Brave develops its oil and gas industry, this website will develop and grow into the long-term resource hub that grows together with the whole industry, both nationally and internationally.
