Africa Oil says the latest exploration well on Block 2913B offshore Namibia, Mangetti-1X, has intersected hydrocarbon-bearing intervals in the Mangetti fan prospect.
This is a separate system to the large Venus oil discovery. Mangetti-1X, operated by Total Energies also successfully penetrated and appraised the northern area of the Venus accumulation.
Acquisition of 3D seismic in the southern part of the block is progressing, the aim being to assess further drilling targets. Appraisal drilling continues on the Venus 2-A well.
