The Namibia Youth Energy Forum (NYEF) is excited to announce the appointment of Mrs. Lydia Mutindi Jacobs to its Advisory Board. With over 12 years of experience in law reform, policy development, and a strong focus on the energy sector, Mrs. Jacobs brings a wealth of expertise that will significantly enhance the Forum’s mission to empower young Namibians in the evolving energy landscape.


The NYEF serves as the premier platform for youth engagement in Namibia’s energy sector, encompassing Oil & Gas, Hydrogen, and Renewable Energy. Our mission is to educate, inspire, and create opportunities for young people to actively participate in and shape the future of Namibia’s energy landscape. Mrs. Jacobs’ extensive background in legal research, along with her commitment to socio-economic reform, positions her perfectly to guide our initiatives and programs.


Mrs. Jacobs currently works with the Directorate of Law Reform at the Ministry of Justice, where she excels in providing thorough analyses on various legal topics, including energy policies. Her academic credentials include a B-Juris and LLB from the University of Namibia, a Master’s level certificate in Ocean Governance from the National University of Galway, and she is currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LLM) in Oil and Gas Law at the University of Aberdeen. Her diverse qualifications and skills in project management, legislative drafting, and investment treaties make her an invaluable addition to our team.


In her new role at the NYEF, Mrs. Jacobs aims to provide strategic guidance and actionable recommendations that will empower young Namibians in the rapidly developing energy sector. She emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts to propose initiatives that can be implemented at local, regional, or national levels, ensuring that the voices of the youth are heard in the formulation of energy policies.


The NYEF is committed to fostering a generation of leaders and change-makers equipped to address the challenges and opportunities within Namibia’s energy sector. Through educational resources, mentorship programs, and networking opportunities, we are dedicated to ensuring that young Namibians have the tools they need to thrive.
