BW Energy has committed to drill a well on the Kharas prospect offshore Namibia on the northwest of the Kudu Formation.

The company has secured long-lead items for a program that it hopes to start in the second half of next year. It is reviewing offers for rig capacity via dialogue with other operators active in the offshore Orange Basin.

Processing of a PSDM 3D dataset over the offshore Kudu gas field has finished, and development planning/concept selection continues for the proposed Kudu gas-to-power project.

Early in 2025, BW Energy aims to take FID on its Maromba oilfield development in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil.

Its chosen concept involves the reuse of an FPSO and a jackup with drilling capacity and dry production trees, with a short payback time. At present, the BW Maromba FPSO is at the COSCO yard in China ahead of the planned upgrades.

Initially, Maromba could deliver about 50,000 bbl/d from six wells.
