As Namibia embarks on an exciting new chapter in its oil and gas industry, we invite all stakeholders to
join us for the inaugural Erongo Offshore Safety Conference taking place on the 1st and 2nd of May 2025.
This unprecedented conference will offer a platform for robust discussions, expert-led case studies and
presentations encapsulating the standardization of safety, well-being and best practices in Namibia’s
offshore oil and gas industry.
Spearheaded by the Namibian Association for Offshore Oil and Gas Service Providers (NAOGSP), this
prestigious event offers unique access to essential industry insights, data, and forward-thinking strategies
that will drive the evolution of offshore safety practices in Namibia. Key topics will include operational
safety audits, radiation safety in well logging, performance-driven legislation, cyber security, asset
management, real-time safety monitoring tools, diverless UWILD, and cutting-edge safety practices on
Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSOs). The 2 -day plenary session will set the tone for
invaluable exchanges featuring esteemed industry leaders from Namibia, Angola, Brazil, Ghana, Nigeria,
Norway, and other global industry hubs.
The conference will kick off with a powerful opening ceremony in observance of International Workers’
Day, complimented by a strong program which will highlight the critical roles of operators, service
companies, and regulators in managing the risks associated with offshore operations, ensuring that
safety performance and employee well-being are prioritized in Namibia’s burgeoning oil and gas sector.
We are also honoured to announce that Det Norske Veritas (DNV) has come on board as our official
Technical Advisor for the conference. DNV’s extensive expertise in regulatory compliance, risk
management, and offshore classifications will help guide the conference and ensure it serves as a
springboard for innovative solutions and best practices to protect Namibia’s offshore workforce and
operations. With a deep commitment to safety and sustainability, DNV invests at least 5% of its annual
revenue into research and development to address pressing industry challenges. Further strengthening
our efforts, the Angolan Oil and Gas Service Companies Association (AECIPA) is joining forces with us
as a strategic partner, providing a Pan-African framework to promote legislation, optimize supply chains,
and foster market intelligence, all of which will reinforce the competitiveness and resilience of Namibia’s
oil and gas sector in the global arena. Collectively, we have the opportunity to transform Namibia’s oil
and gas industry into a global benchmark for responsible, sustainable operations.
We call on all industry stakeholders to be part of this pivotal event as delegates and exhibitors. Your
involvement is critical to shaping the future of offshore safety in Namibia, ensuring that the sector evolves
in a way that prioritizes the safety and well-being of workers, while also championing social responsibility
and operational excellence. This is a perfect opportunity to establish a visionary and actionable roadmap for shaping the future of offshore safety standards, policies, and legislation in Namibia.
